Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by attending an evening with Latino filmmaker Peter Bratt. Peter Bratt is an award-winning screenwriter and independent filmmaker whose feature films such as Follow Me Home and La Mission have premiered in competition at festivals such as Sundance and the San Francisco International Film Festival.  Most recently, Peter co-wrote and directed Dolores, a feature documentary about the life of controversial activist, Dolores Huerta.

Celebre el Mes de la Hispanidad pasando una tarde con el cineasta Latino Peter Bratt. Peter Bratt es un guionista y cineasta independiente premiado, cuyas películas, incluyendo Follow Me Home y La Mission han sido presentadas en certámenes de cine en festivales como el Sundance y el Festival Internacional de Cine de San Francisco.  Más recientemente, Peter co-escribió y dirigió Dolores, un documental sobre la vida de la polémica activista Dolores Huerta.

This celebration of Latino film will showcase a screening of La Mission, which tells the story of a reformed ex-convict who kicks his son out of the house after discovering that the boy has been living a secret life.  Stay for a conversation on Peter’s filmography and advocacy for Latino/a populations in the U.S.

Esta celebración del cine latino presentará la película La Mission, que cuenta la historia de un ex-convicto reformado que corre a su hijo fuera de la casa después de descubrir que el niño ha estado viviendo una vida secreta.  Después de la película, quédese para una conversación sobre la filmografía de Peter y el apoyo de la población de los latinos/as en los Estados Unidos.

Doors will open at 5:30pm for this general admission event. The event is expected to last 3.5 hours. It is free and no tickets are needed, just show up!

Owned by the City of Bloomington, the Buskirk-Chumley Theater is operated by BCT Management, Inc., a private non-profit organization. This theater, located one block off the Courthouse Square, seats 600 with an orchestra level and a balcony. Concessions and items purchased from BLU Boy may be taken into the auditorium. Restrooms, concessions, the box office, and the orchestra-level seats are all wheelchair accessible. Special seats are reserved for those using wheelchairs. Please contact the box office at 812.323.3020 to purchase those seats. Street, lot, and garage parking is available across downtown Bloomington.
