Many musicians have day jobs to make ends meet. However, few artists maintain the lifestyle kept by Gregory Alan Isakov. The Colorado-based indie-folk artist is a full-time farmer who sells vegetable seeds and grows various market crops on his three-acre farm, while also tending to a thriving musical career.

“I switch gears a lot,” he says. “I wake up really early in the growing season, and then in the winters, I’m up all night. I’m constantly moving back and forth.”

Isakov had an easier time balancing his two passions while making his fourth full-length studio album, Evening Machines. In between farm duties, the multi-instrumentalist wrote and recorded in a studio housed in a barn on his property. Like the farm, this studio has a communal atmosphere, filled with instruments and gear stored there by musician friends—gear Isakov always leaves on, just in case inspiration strikes.

$1 from each ticket sold for this show will support Project Worthmore , which provides opportunities for refugees through six programs—Community Navigation, English Language, Worthmore Clinic, Family Partnership, Delaney Community Farm, and the Yuh Meh Food Share—that assist refugees in becoming self-sufficient and improving their quality of life.

Photo of Luke Sital-Singh The opening performer will be Luke Sital-Singh. Luke Sital-Singh is an internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter from the UK. In 2012 he released his debut single “Fail For You,” which first introduced to the world his deft ability to craft songs with a mesmerizing piercing emotional quality. The song went on to be featured in numerous TV shows including Grey’s Anatomy. At the end of 2013, Sital-Singh was featured in the BBC’s Sound of 2014 list and signed to Parlophone records, who released his debut record The Fire Inside later that year.

After a couple of years touring the world and opening for artist such as Villagers, The Staves, Martha Wainwright and Kodaline, in 2017 Sital-Singh released his sophomore record Time Is A Riddle, which featured the stand out song “Killing Me.” His songs are rich and somber and have the tendency to stop you in your tracks. Of his songwriting, Sital-Singh says: “I like writing about the heavy things. There’s a lot of shallow stuff out there and that’s fine for certain contexts. My fun is diving as deep as I can. Inside myself and, if I can, inside others and writing songs that are as honest as I can make them. Honest to the struggles we all face, the sadness but more importantly, the hope.”

Early 2019 saw Luke and his wife Hannah leave Somerset for California. Now with his third album released, A Golden State reflects that new chapter, a new mindset and the best work Luke has done to date.

Doors will open at 7:30pm for this reserved seating show.
