Jaime Hernandez is the co-creator of the acclaimed alternative comic book series, Love and Rockets, along with his brothers, Gilbert and Mario. Published since 1982, the series is recognized for its trailblazing portrayals of realistic Latina characters. His work has also appeared in DC Comics and the New Yorker. His latest collection is Angels and Magpies.
This event is part of the IU Arts and Humanities Council’s 2019 Global Arts and Humanities Festival Mexico Remixed.
Doors will open at 7pm for this general admission event. The event is expected to last about 1.5 hours.
After the talk, Mr. Hernandez will be signing copies of his books, which will be available for purchase in the lobby.

Owned by the City of Bloomington, the Buskirk-Chumley Theater is operated by BCT Management, Inc., a private non-profit organization. This theater, located one block east of the Courthouse Square, seats 600 with an orchestra level and a balcony. Concessions and items purchased from BLU Boy Cafe may be taken into the auditorium.
Restrooms, concessions, the box office, and the orchestra-level seats are all wheelchair accessible. Special seats are reserved for those using wheelchairs, which can be purchased via the box office at 812.323.3020. Street, lot, and garage parking is available across downtown Bloomington.
