Marisol Perez narrowly escapes a vicious attack by a golf club-wielding madman while traveling home on the subway. Later that evening Marisol is visited by her guardian angel who informs her that she can no longer serve as Marisol’s protector because she has been called to join the revolution already in progress against an old and senile God who is dying and “taking the rest of the universe with him.” The war in heaven spills over into New York City, reducing it to a smoldering urban wasteland where giant fires send noxious smoke to darken the skies, where the moon has not been seen in months, where the food has been turned to salt, and water no longer seeks its level. With the apocalypse well under way, the angels have traded in their wings for Uzis and wear leather motorcycle jackets and fatigues.

Winner of the 1993 Obie Award. An apocalyptic urban fantasy which urges society to “wake up” and somehow find a way to recover the long-lost and much-needed compassion for our fellow man, as this is the only way to save our world.

Doors will open at 7:15pm for this general admission performance. The play will run approximately 90 minutes with one intermission. Please note that there is no late seating, and allow adequate time for parking. If tickets have not sold out in advance, they can be purchased at the door by cash or card.

Will-Call: Prior to the day of the event, Will-Call can be picked up from the BCT Box Office at 114 E Kirkwood Ave. On the day of the event, Will-Call will open at 7:15pm at the Waldron.

The Ivy Tech John Waldron Arts Center houses a unique blend of artists, performers, and educators. At the Ivy Tech Waldron, visitors can see a play, catch a concert, and enjoy multiple art galleries. The venue’s two performance spaces, the Whikehart Auditorium and the Rose Firebay, have both hosted countless events since the center’s doors opened in 1992. Although it’s just as adaptable and well-equipped, the Rose Firebay is a more intimate space than the auditorium upstairs, seating up to 90 people. The Rose Firebay is fully accessible through the Waldron’s Fourth Street entrance. Parking is available on the street around downtown.
