The Oregon TrailBy Bekah Brunstetter
Directed by Claire Reinhart
Off-Broadway/On-Ninth

13 year-old Jane has always had trouble making choices. Looking for an escape, she seeks refuge in the classic ‘80s video game, The Oregon Trail—where the choices are clear, the results are sure, and there’s always another life to live (after everyone dies of dysentery). But as time blurs, the boundaries between game and reality become hazy, until Jane finds herself leaping headfirst into the world of The Oregon Trail, where she’s forced to confront the choices she’s made, connect with her family, keep her oxen safe, and ford the river of life.

This show contains adult language and situations. Recommended for audiences high school age and older. Run time is 90 minutes, with no intermission.

The BPP box office will open at 6:30pm, house opens at 7pm.

Refunds or exchanges can only be made up to 24 hours in advance of showtime, including for tickets purchased with subscriptions.

The Bloomington Playwrights Project (BPP) is the only professional theatre in Indiana dedicated solely to new plays. In operation for 35 years, the BPP serves both the Bloomington and national theatre communities by working with talented playwrights, actors, and artists to develop high-level productions for both local patrons and the many audiences attending subsequent productions of scripts that originated at the BPP. The Bloomington Playwrights Project is an advocate for playwrights and new plays, believing firmly that they are not only important but absolutely vital to the future of the art form.
