POLICIES AND INFORMATION FOR OUR PATRONS
Located next to the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, the BCT Box Office connects you with tickets to events at the BCT and at venues across the community, from The Warehouse to the Bloomington Playwrights Project to the Monroe County Fairgrounds.

There are no convenience fees on BCT Box Office ticket orders regardless of order method. The price you see is the price you pay.
The box office is open seven days a week: Monday–Friday, 11am–6pm, and Saturday–Sunday, noon–5pm.
On evenings with a performance at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, the box office stays open continuously until at least half an hour after the performance’s start time. Will-call tickets and ticket purchasing (for that night’s BCT event only) may be available at our concessions window after the box office closes.
Tickets ordered online or by phone are printed and placed in will-call. Will-call tickets can be picked up at the BCT Box Office within a few hours of purchase (during business hours) or immediately before the performance. We encourage patrons to collect their tickets in advance to avoid lines that may form prior to a show. Please plan to present your photo ID or a receipt of your purchase.
For events not at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, tickets are usually available for pickup at the BCT Box Office until a few hours prior to the event. Tickets remaining in will-call at that point will be available at the door of the venue prior to the event. Check the specific event description or your receipt for specific instructions.
All tickets sold at the BCT Box Office & Downtown Visitors Center are held in will-call. Tickets are not mailed.
The BCT Box Office accepts cash, check (with valid ID), all major credit cards, Downtown Bloomington Gift Certificates, and BCT Box Office gift cards. We can also accept Cardinal Stage Company gift cards for Cardinal shows at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater.
Seniors and Children
Because we work with a variety of promoter partners (the folks who put on the shows you enjoy), the ticket policies can be a bit different for each event. For some shows, the senior discount starts at age 60, and for others, it starts at age 65. For some shows, children 12 and younger are free, and for others, children six and younger are free. The rules are determined by the promoter. Unless otherwise stated, however, children two and younger who will stay in an adult’s lap have free admission and do not need a ticket. If you have any questions about ticketing related to a particular event, please contact the box office at 812.323.3020.
General Admission versus Reserved Seating
If a show is listed as “general admission,” no seat assignment will be made at the time of purchase. You will be allowed to choose your seat when you arrive. The doors to the auditorium generally open half an hour in advance of the performance start time, but please check the specific event description for more information. “Reserved seating” means that you pick your seats at the time of purchase. When purchasing online, you will be asked to select specific seats. When purchasing in person or over the phone, our staff will be happy to help you choose the best seat for you.
Seating in the Buskirk-Chumley Theater
With seating for around 600 patrons, the BCT provides you with an intimate experience with a great view of your favorite artists, but we know it’s sometimes difficult to decide where to sit. Our seating chart might give you more information but you can also call 812.323.3020 for advice from the staff or stop by to see the auditorium yourself.
Refunds and Exchanges
There are no refunds or exchanges for ticket purchases made through the BCT Box Office. If a show has more than one performance, however, we are happy to move your tickets from one performance to another at no charge. We can also move tickets within the theater if you need to change your seat for the same show. Other refund and exchange rules may apply for Cardinal Stage Company productions.
Gift cards can be used to purchase tickets for events at the BCT (excluding Cardinal Stage Company productions), events elsewhere in the community, and merchandise sold at the BCT Box Office. Gift cards can be emailed or a printed card can be provided.
Ready to redeem your card? You can bring it to the BCT Box Office or register it online. Once registered, it will be held as a credit on your account until you make a purchase.
Cardinal Stage Company & the BCT Box Office
Cardinal Stage Company has its own box office and handles the majority of transactions related to their productions. When shows are held at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, the BCT Box Office is authorized to sell tickets to patrons in the box office. We cannot redeem subscriptions or honor most discount opportunities. We are not able to sell tickets over the phone, although we are happy to provide information about Cardinal shows over the phone.
Will-call for Cardinal productions is held at the Cardinal Stage Company Box Office (900 S. Walnut Street in Bloomington), and your tickets can be picked up there in advance. Will-call tickets will only be available in the BCT Box Office one hour prior to performances taking place at the BCT.
Bloomington Playwrights Project (BPP) & the BCT Box Office
We provide complete box office services for the BPP and can sell tickets and season subscriptions, along with redeeming subscriptions and handling other transactions.
Security & Privacy
The BCT Box Office meets the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and does not retain any credit card information for your protection. When you purchase tickets, you are entering your purchase information on a secure site run by TheaterMania/OvationTix.
When you purchase tickets, you will be asked to provide contact information, including mailing address, email, and phone number. This information is essential so that we may contact you in case of changes to the performance (time change, significant change to the lineup, cancellation, weather-related concerns, etc.). Collecting complete contact information also helps us locate your order if you were to lose your ticket or have questions about your payment and allows us to report to our funders about where our patrons live. Your email address may be used to send a confirmation message prior to the show with useful information or a follow-up message after the performance but you will not receive ongoing emails from us unless you sign up to do so.
If you are a BCT donor, a current email address is important so that you receive the full benefits of your donation, including invitations to pre-event receptions, donor-only events, and pre-sale purchasing opportunities.
Your contact information will only be shared with the promoter (artist, organizer, non-profit organization, etc.) of the event you attend. This promoter has signed a contract agreeing not to rent, sell, or otherwise share your contact information. The Buskirk-Chumley Theater and the BCT Box Office do not rent, sell, or otherwise share contact information with anyone other than the specific promoter associated with your event.
You can make a purchase without sharing your contact information by purchasing at the BCT Box Office during business hours. Purchases made with a credit card will be attributed to an account in your name, but additional contact information does not have to be provided. Purchases made with cash can be completely anonymous, but you will not receive the benefits listed above.
